With a title like “Getting In The Spirit” I was expecting GHOSTS. I was expecting a MEDIUM BRIDE. I was expecting SOMETHING.
But there was some big news – Consultant Sarah is getting married!!
Every single person at Kleinfeld’s gushes about how much they love Sarah and how wonderful she is. Sarah seems so sweet, I believe them!! We’ll get to her appointment in a second.
First, we have Sola Sowemimo, who is a Nigerian woman living in London and here on a whim to try on dresses.
As consultant Debbie points out, this does not bode well for actually making a sale. Also, Sola has brought her fiancé, and this man is a fuckboy.
This is the way that Tosin describes their relationship, “I’m a ladies man… we started out as friends and before you know it, I’m on my knees.” Sir you are on a national television program.
Sola wants to try on a dress called “White Chocolate,” but Debbie starts her off in a basic dress (we’ve actually seen this dress before – it was Dorianne’s dress from a few episodes ago.)
Sola is not impressed by this – she wants a dress with “wow factor.” For those keeping track at home, this is the first known appearance of “wow factor” on this show. Debbie decides to bring out White Chocolate. Apparently this designer is no longer in business and they’ve got the last sample of the dress. It’s listed at $8999, which you make recognize as being well within Sola’s budget.
Sola loves this dress, her fiancé loves the dress. Randy and Debbie both agree that the dress is… unique… but Sola is the first bride that they’ve seen actually pull it off. Unfortunately – twist – Sola was not actually prepared to buy a dress today, and she literally does not have the money to take it home.
OKAY, LET’S TALK ABOUT SARAH!!!
Sarah is here to buy a dress!! Audrey came in on her day off to be her consultant!! Audrey has mentioned before on the show that she doesn’t have a daughter, and she considers many of her clients to fill that role. Here, talking about Sarah, she’s almost in tears. I’m crying too, Audrey!!
Hilariously, Sarah brought a massive entourage.
To quote Randy, “One of our rules is not to bring a lot of people. Sarah – you broke that rule!” he says with a smile and a laugh.
Dress #1 reveals that Sarah has a body-ody-ody under her black wrap dress.
Sarah and Audrey both start crying at the sight of her in a wedding dress. Sarah likes the dress but she’s experienced and she knows that she wants to try a few more on.
The next one was picked by Audrey. She says that she knows Sarah won’t pick this, but if she had a daughter and she could have any dress in the store, this is what she would want her to pick.
Sarah is not saying yes to this dress, so she tries on Dress #3.
Every starts crying immediately. There are gasps from EVERYONE. Joan is weeping, Camille is weeping, Randy is weeping, the consultants have gathered.
Even Pnina Tornai appears from her rhinestone-encrusted cave to give Sarah a hug and offer some customization on her gown. It’s a very sweet, very emotional bit all around – and it’s just so clear how much everyone loves Sarah.
Finally, we have a little alterations bride – Rachel, from season two, episode five. It’s her final fitting and her gown looks great.
Final Score:
- Entourage of 5+ people: +3 points
- Designer Cameo: +5 points
- Bride has a “bridal moment”: +5 for Sarah
- Pnina Tornai customizes a gown: +5 points
- Manager Intervention: +5 points
- Consultant Fitting!!!: +10 points
- Bride’s budget is $10,000 or more: +10 points
Total: 43/100
Bye beautiful! Hopefully we have more brides next time!
